After 50 wonderful years under Maggie’s care, we are honored to step into this next chapter. Maggie has built something truly extraordinary, and we feel so lucky to continue the legacy of this beloved San Francisco institution.

This shop has always been more than a store — it’s part of the neighborhood’s heart. My dad grew up just a block away, and I have so many memories of coming to Dottie Doolittle with my grandmother, my three siblings, and our many cousins. Maggie would tell me stories of how Gugu brought us all in, sometimes even opening the store early so each of us could pick out something special.
From Pad:
I grew up on the Peninsula, and my mom would often drive us into the city to shop at Dottie Doolittle. When my older sister had twins across the way at CPMC, our family spent many days here — always finding warmth and comfort within these walls.
Together, we are so grateful to carry forward everything you love about Dottie Doolittle, while adding a little of our own heart along the way. We can’t wait to celebrate the next 50 years with you ✨
